AnkiDecks (ankidecks.ai) is operated by Grasp Labs LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information, such as your email address and name.
- Content you add, such as files, text and links, and the flashcards created from it.
- Usage and device information needed to run and secure the service, including your country (from your connection).
- Messages you send us through the Contact form or Feedback in the app. With a bug report we also keep the app page you were on, your browser and your screen size, to help us fix it.
- Your answers to the optional questions when you sign up (what you study, how you use Anki, what you make cards from, how you heard about us, and why you signed up) and where you review your cards. We use them to set up the app for you and to understand who AnkiDecks helps. You can change them on your Account page.
- Billing status. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see your card details.
2. How we use it
To provide AnkiDecks — including generating your flashcards — manage your account, communicate with you about the service, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Our legal bases are: providing the service you signed up for; our legitimate interest in keeping AnkiDecks secure and improving it; and your consent for optional emails, which you can withdraw at any time.
If you use the free plan regularly, we may email you once with an offer for our paid plan. You can skip it when you sign up, and the email has an unsubscribe link.
4. Using AnkiDecks from Claude
If you connect AnkiDecks to Claude (made by Anthropic), Claude can, when you ask it to, start decks from the files, text and links you give it, and see your deck names, card counts, a few example cards with their source page, and links to your decks. Files you pick in the AnkiDecks box inside Claude are sent straight to us, not into the chat. If you attach a file in the chat itself and ask for cards, Claude reads it and sends us its text. What you type into Claude and what Claude shows you is handled by Anthropic under its own privacy policy. You can disconnect AnkiDecks at any time in Claude's settings.
5. Retention
Uploaded files are deleted after 30 days. Your decks and cards are kept until you delete them. When you delete your account, your data is deleted, and backups expire within 30 days. To stop the free plan being reused by deleting and re-creating accounts, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email address (it can't be turned back into the address) with how many decks you made that month, for 62 days. Payment records are kept as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. You can download, edit or delete your data at any time from your account; for anything else, contact support@ankidecks.ai. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Age
AnkiDecks is intended for users aged 13 or older, or the minimum age required in your country.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know.
