Speaker notes read too
What the lecturer wrote under each slide is read with it, so the extra detail ends up in your cards.
Diagrams become image occlusion
Labeled pictures on slides become image occlusion cards: labels hidden, one asked at a time.
Slide number on every card
Each card shows the line and slide it came from, so you can find it in the lecture again.
Cloze for lists and numbers
Lists, criteria and cut-offs become cloze cards, one blank at a time.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Free makes 3 decks a month from files up to 15 pages. Pro ($7.99 a month) makes 50 decks a month from files up to 100 pages. Downloading to Anki is never paywalled.
Does it read speaker notes?
Yes. Speaker notes are read together with each slide's text.
What about Google Slides or Keynote?
Export them first. Google Slides: File → Download → Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF. Keynote: File → Export To → PowerPoint or PDF.
My file is an old .ppt
Open it in PowerPoint and choose Save As → .pptx, or save it as a PDF, then upload that.
Do labels on diagrams work?
Yes, when the diagram is a picture on the slide. Switch on image occlusion and each labeled diagram gets boxes over its labels (at most 12, main structures first). You can change the boxes before you download. If the labels are separate text boxes on top of the picture, upload the slides as a PDF so they're seen together.
Can't I just use ChatGPT?
You can: paste the text, ask for cards, then copy them into Anki. Our free ChatGPT prompt tool writes a good prompt for that. What it won't do is check each card against your file or make image occlusion cards. AnkiDecks keeps a card only if its quote is really in your file, and gives you a deck that opens in Anki straight away. Using Claude? Add AnkiDecks to Claude and make decks right in the chat.
Does it work on AnkiMobile and AnkiDroid?
Yes. You download a normal .apkg deck. It opens in Anki on a computer, AnkiMobile and AnkiDroid, with no add-ons. Image occlusion cards need Anki 23.10 or newer.
What happens to my slides?
Uploaded files are deleted after 30 days. Your cards stay until you delete them, and you can delete your account and everything in it any time.
