How to use it

How AACOMAS counts your GPA
- Every attempt counts. AACOMAS no longer uses grade replacement or academic forgiveness from your school.
- Science = biology, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics and other sciences. Math is non-science.
- Plus and minus count, and quarter hours become semester hours (× 2/3).
- Pass, withdrawn, incomplete and audited classes don't change your GPA.
- Graduate classes are calculated separately.
- This is an estimate. Your verified GPA comes from AACOMAS and can differ slightly.
AACOMAS vs AMCAS: where the same transcript differs
Retakes, plus/minus and A+ work the same in both: every attempt counts, and A+ is a 4.0. These are the places where your DO and MD numbers can split.

Questions
Does AACOMAS still do grade replacement?
No. AACOMAS now counts every attempt of a retaken class, even if your school replaced the first grade. Older guides that say "last attempt only" are out of date.
Is math science for AACOMAS?
No. AACOMAS puts math in the non-science GPA, unlike AMCAS.
Is my AACOMAS GPA the same as my AMCAS GPA?
Your overall GPA is usually very close. Your science GPA can differ because of math and "other sciences".
Do I enter quarter hours or semester hours?
Enter what your transcript says and switch on "Quarter hours" if needed. We convert them like AACOMAS does.
