Anki to Word converter
Open your Anki deck and download a Word document: one row per card, front on the left, back on the right.
Drop the Anki deck you want in Word
.apkg or .colpkg, up to 500 MB. It opens right here, nothing is uploaded.
How to turn an Anki deck into a Word document
- 1Export the deck from Anki as an .apkg (gear next to the deck → Export), or use a shared deck file.
- 2Drop it here, filter it if you like, and click Word (.docx).
- 3Open the file in Word, Google Docs or Pages to read, edit or print it.
What carries over
- Bold, italics, underline, lists and line breaks stay. Cloze answers are shown in bold.
- Pictures come along, sized to fit the column.
- Extra fields (like Back Extra) are added under the back. Audio is left out.
- The table header repeats on every printed page.
Turn it into a printable self-test
- 1Open the .docx in Word on a computer. Word for the web can't hide text.
- 2Select the whole Back column. On Windows, open the Font box (Home → the small arrow in the Font group); on a Mac, choose Format → Font. Tick Hidden and click OK.
- 3Print. The answers stay off the page (unless "Print hidden text" is on in Word's options), and the empty column leaves room to write your own.
- 4To check yourself, select the column again and untick Hidden. Cloze cards show their answers in bold on the front, so this works best for Basic cards.

Questions
Is my deck uploaded anywhere?
No. The deck opens inside your browser; the file never leaves your device. That's also why huge decks (over 500 MB) can't be opened.
Which Anki files work?
Any .apkg (a shared deck) or .colpkg (a full collection backup), from old Anki versions and the newest ones.
Do pictures show?
Yes, pictures inside the deck show on the cards and in the PDF. Audio is left out.
Can I open shared decks like AnKing?
Yes, if your computer has enough memory. For very big decks, export just the sub-deck you need from Anki first.
Word or PDF?
Word if you want to edit or add notes. Print / PDF if you just want to print the cards as they are.
