Anki to RemNote converter
Open your Anki deck, click Copy for RemNote, and paste into a RemNote document. The cards come in as RemNote flashcards.
Drop the Anki deck you want in RemNote
.apkg or .colpkg, up to 500 MB. It opens right here, nothing is uploaded.
How to move an Anki deck to RemNote
- 1Export the deck from Anki as an .apkg (gear next to the deck → Export), or use a shared deck file.
- 2Drop it here and click Copy for RemNote.
- 3In RemNote, open a document and paste.
What carries over
- Basic cards become "Front >> Back" flashcards, RemNote's own syntax.
- A back with several lines becomes a multi-line card (>>>) with each line under it.
- Anki cloze {{c1::…}} becomes RemNote cloze {{…}}.
- Pictures, audio and formatting are left out of the text.
RemNote's Anki import or Copy for RemNote?
| RemNote's own Anki import | Copy for RemNote (here) | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | A whole deck or your full collection. | A few cards or one sub-deck, after a look at them first. |
| Review history | Comes along if you tick "Include scheduling information" when you export from Anki. Imported cards wait in a separate Need to Learn queue, so they don't flood your daily reviews. | Not included. You paste text, so RemNote makes brand-new cards. |
| Pictures and image occlusion | Tick "Include media" when you export. Anki's image occlusion cards import too, as long as their note type and field names are unchanged. | Text only. Leave picture cards to RemNote's import. |
| Cloze | Comes in with the deck. | {{c1::…}} becomes {{…}}. RemNote treats every blank on its own, so two blanks that share c1 in Anki become two separate clozes. Hints and Back Extra are left out; add a hint in RemNote as {({hint})}. |
| Styling | Custom CSS and JavaScript from your note types don't carry over, so cards can look different. | Plain text either way. |

Questions
Is my deck uploaded anywhere?
No. The deck opens inside your browser; the file never leaves your device. That's also why huge decks (over 500 MB) can't be opened.
Which Anki files work?
Any .apkg (a shared deck) or .colpkg (a full collection backup), from old Anki versions and the newest ones.
Do pictures show?
Yes, pictures inside the deck show on the cards and in the PDF. Audio is left out.
Can I open shared decks like AnKing?
Yes, if your computer has enough memory. For very big decks, export just the sub-deck you need from Anki first.
What about RemNote's own Anki import?
RemNote can import a whole .apkg (your name in the top left → Import → Anki), and it keeps your review history, so use it for whole decks. This tool is the quick way to move part of a deck, see the cards first, or get past a big import that gets stuck.
