- 1In RemNote, open the document and export it as Markdown or Text (or select the Rems and copy them).
- 2Paste here. Lines like "Question >> Answer", "Term :: Definition" or "Term ;; Description" become cards.
- 3Check the preview and download the .apkg.
Why not RemNote's own Anki export?
- RemNote can export to Anki, but users report that everything turns into Basic notes: cloze cards don't stay cloze.
- Here, a line with {{blanks}} becomes a real Anki cloze card, one card per blank (c1, c2…).
- Bullets and numbers at the start of lines are removed. Lines without a card separator are skipped.
- RemNote can also export .apkg itself (⋯ → Export → Anki). Some users find the front of each card then reads "Folder->Page->Front"; pasting the text here keeps just the question.
- Pictures and image occlusions don't come along in a text export.

Questions
Which RemNote separators work?
>> (forward), << and <> (both ways), :: (concept) and ;; (descriptor). Each becomes a front → back card; pick "Both ways" to add the reverse.
Does nested context come along?
No, each line stands alone. If a card only makes sense with its parent Rem, add that word to the front before converting.
Is it really free? Do you keep my cards?

How do I open the .apkg in Anki?
Double-click the file, or in Anki choose File → Import and pick it. On AnkiMobile or AnkiDroid, open the file from your downloads (or share it to the app).
Will importing twice make duplicates?
No. The same front and back always get the same id, so Anki updates the card instead of adding a copy.
Can I make cloze cards?
Yes. Write blanks the Anki way, like {{c1::ATP}} is made in the {{c2::mitochondria}}, and they become cloze cards.
